The company was founded in 1983 by Professor Dr. M. Birkle in Karlsruhe as a specialized engineering bureau for measurements and analysis of soil air at contaminated sites. Fastly, it developped to a multi-task company working mainly in the fields of contaminated site exploration, management and treatment, soil, water and groundwater protection, geological and hydrogeological investigations, water management, material flow management, research on natural attenuation processes and constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment.
